Untradeable Pins

What does everyone do with pins that are structurally fine but have missing or faded letters or words from the original pins? I wouldn't want to put them on pin boards as traders but is there a home for misfit pins.

I have a ziplock bag of pins like that, waiting for something to do with them.  I've heard that some people turn them into magnets, but I'm not ever going to get around to doing that.

Joe turns them into magnets. We also have a huge bin of scrapper/fakes that we are saving to hopefully use in creating some tops of tables etc.

but how do you incorporate the pins

I would also like to know how they are incorporated!

 

We took a bunch of random trinkets from my childhood and tween years that, for the most part, would have gone straight to the bin, put them in an old mason jar.  Made it into a lamp.  It’s crossed my mind as an idea for pins like that.  The weight would be excellent for a base.  If not ideal..it would be an interesting place to stick them whilst waiting for the perfect idea of what to do with them

That's why it's called a project. I'm gathering pins now, then we'll figure out if we can make a montage of a lion. Permanently glue the pins once we have a picture we like.

@firechief18 So….i can send you my fakes (I don’t have a ton anymore) and you would have use for them?
