Want to add an avatar? Or change your existing one? (An avatar is the nifty little square picture that appears with your username.)
Go to your Profile page, and click the little photo icon at the left, by where the avatar is/can be:
When you click that button, it brings up a pop-up screen.
1. Hit the Choose Single File button, and this brings up a pop-up where you can browse your hard-drive for a picture (pictures of yourself are always recommended but not required).
2. When you select a picture, click the Continue button.
It then changes screens, and you get to crop your picture (you can zoom and crop the square). When you've cropped it to your satisfaction, hit the Save button at the bottom right.
You are now returned to your Profile page, and the new avatar is visible!

In case you're having trouble finding/picking a picture for your avatar and are wanting to use your favorite character, here are some ready-made images. Just download to your computer and follow the instructions above.
