Trading - how it works here?

Can someone help me understand the trades here? I want to start trading online but I want to make sure I want to follow the rules here. OR if there is a forum set up already, can someone please redirect it.

Once you have your pins inventoried and your wants and trades listed you can go through the database, select a pin you want. Check the trade assist and see if you have any matches with anyone. Send them a trade request. Be mindful, not everyone is active or will respond to requests. If you do get a response, a lot of people want front and back pictures of the pin(s) being offered.
