Ptd pins

What's the easiest way to spot fake PTD pins?

Specifically is this one OK? I heard something about borders but I'm not sure what I'm checking for

What year is the pin? Prior to 2020, the waffle not going to the edge was a good indicator for a scrapper pin. After 2021, a lot of the quality assurance went out the window, so the waffle to the edge is no longer a good indicator.

It says 2015 on pin pics but I can't find any photos of the official back. I see another listing on eBay and the back looks the same as mine

Actually the cones not going all the way to the edge is a good sign. The fake ones usually don't have a border and the cones do go all the way to the edge. If the cones are misshapen then you most likely have an authentic pin. I could be wrong but all of my authentic ones (I personally purchased) have the misshapen cones.

For what it is worth......

I have this pin and it is exactly the same as the photo you posted above.

Sorry that I didn't see this post earlier.
