angelo97
I thought it would be fun to come on here and show you all the new and unusual pin I got today in pin mall today. I collect Scoop Sanderson pins, and for the longest time my top grails have been pins PP19135 WDW - Mickey Mouse - Pin Trading - PP - Scoop Sanderson - Version 3 PP19134 WDW - I Traded With Scoop - PP - Main Street USA - Version 2 PP19133 WDW - I Traded With Scoop! - PP - Main Street USA - Version 1 PP18808 WDW - Mickey - Scoop Sanderson - Pin Trading well today I received one of these four grails, PP18808. I’m so happy to add this to my collection! However this is some intrigue with this particular pin. I have had the opportunity to see versions 2 and 3. these pins are not individually numbered on that back. That piece of information is well known about versions 1-3. But versions 1-3 also don’t even have a place for there to be a number. But on PP18808 there is the small rectangle next to the edition size of 750 which is where the individual number goes. As seen here in this first picture that I found online. The interesting part of my pin is that there are NO NUMBERS! As you can see from the pictures of my pin (pic 2 and 3) there is no individual number. Additionally, you can see the small rectangle where the number should be is still intact and there are no damage to suggest that if the numbers where screen printed on, that they were scrapped or removed. Though please correct me if I’m wrong, it is my understanding the numbers were laser etched on (please confirm?). so I’m very interested in this pin. I know it’s a PP18808 due to the fact there’s a number rectangle which is not present on versions 1-3. But the fact that it doesn’t have a number is unusual, could this be a preproduction for PP18808? either way it’s incredible and and I’m so excited to add this pin to my collection! 1
TheTwins
Tagging @ScoopsPins on this one. He probably has the answer, so when he's back from D23 we'll make sure he sees this.

ScoopsPins
Hey Angelo! It’s always flattering and so meaningful to hear about love for pins based on my Main Street character. Your question is easy to answer, and applies to more pins than this one. Anytime you find a limited edition released with individual numbering, the blank space is where the sequential numbers are either laser engraved like this one, or hand stamped with numbered dies hammered into the space preceding the total number of that design produced. There were a very small number of Artist Proofs with the space for the individual number left empty, and that’s what you have here. Whomever received this one got it early on, as I started adding dots for eyes in the glasses later in my time on Main Street. I’d love to know to whom the pin is inscribed, and I love how meaningful it is to you! Wishing you the best of luck finding the the I TRADED WITH SCOOP Prototypes! There’s only a handful, and I have only one of each myself. Thanks for writing! 3
