jadedsabre
Are the Add a Pic Guidelines up to date? My hubby took lots of really sharp photos of my new pins for me, but sizing them down to 400px at the widest dimension seems VERY small to me - plus I looked at recently added pin photos and they're more than twice that size at 840px. I'm totally happy to give you guys higher rez photos, but I also understand the server issues with maintaining such a big DB and that you don't want them too be TOO big. And some pins have photos of the back of the pin, even though the guidelines say they aren't wanted... Is this more like the Pirate's Code... TheTwins
This is an issue for @skeet330 and @mollyanne to answer, as they're in charge of photos and that guide. Tagging them so they see this. I can say that photos are definitely not meant to be sized down to 400px, because the system handles sizing at this time. Thanks for asking! mollyanne
Hi @jadedsabre! Thank you for using PinPics and wanting to add your pins. Can you tell me what guide you were looking at? We do not need you to resize your photos - just to crop them to the edge of the pin. Sometimes your pins will be to large and you might need to make them smaller. This rarely happens but sometimes it does. You will get a message back in red text under the image box. At that point I do make them 50% smaller using Paint in Windows. They are all still quite large. So let me know where you came across the resizing to 400 pixels.....we have not needed to do that since we launched the new site in March 2023. There may be something old that we need to remove. Again, thank you so much for using PinPics and for wanting to add your pins. You do want to make sure and follow the Add A Pin guide.....as it will guide you in how to do it correctly! Molly

I simply used your links in the site's menu bar. Pin Database > Add a Pin. It asks me to login, then pops up the following page: https://www.pinpics.com/pinack And here's the bit about resizing:
TheTwins
Oh, dear! That's quite old and was not meant to be linked anywhere anymore. When I access the button from the Add Pin form, it's showing this newer guide: Any chance you can post the link for the area where you are finding a button that links to the guide you're seeing? We'll definitely want to fix this. Thanks for posting about it! (Tagging @mollyanne just so she sees this issue as well.)
jadedsabre
Like I said, it's the link in the top menu bar. It asks me to log in, then returns the ADD a PIN GUIDELINES. I wonder if you maybe need to create a new account to see it? You have to click a "Read and accept" box, which might create a cookie and then never show the page again.

I would think you might be on the right track, as the url you posted takes you to the one you show and the url is for a page titled "pinack" which I would think is for "acknowledging the pin guide" page. tinkrocks
Hi! I just added a pin for a HKDL Pin Trading Carnival with Chip & Dale. I have a few more photos (original size & reduced size), if needed. Update: thanks for adding the pin (169158).
