bandmama Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 I have a few pins I found while cleaning out a basement and would like to identify them. I do have a small collection of pins from two visits to WDW in 1995 and 2010, so was very surprised to find these. 1
bandmama Posted August 24, 2024 Author Posted August 24, 2024 (edited) i found these while cleaning out my basement. they belonged to my great grandmother who was born in 1915. I know she was at a disney park in the 70's, though I do not know any more details than that. can anyone tell me the age or if they are authentic? they have metal butterfly clutch backings. Edited August 24, 2024 by bandmama clarification on wording. 2
firechief18 Posted August 25, 2024 Posted August 25, 2024 Would you please send a picture of the back of the pins and a close-up of Snow White. 2
bandmama Posted August 28, 2024 Author Posted August 28, 2024 Will these help? The back of the Snow White is corroded. All of the dwarves have black metal on the backs. Have you ever seen anything like these?
firechief18 Posted August 28, 2024 Posted August 28, 2024 From what I can find, these pins look like Sedesma pins. 1
bandmama Posted August 28, 2024 Author Posted August 28, 2024 Thank you very much. I am googling that now to try to get an understanding of what that actually means.
firechief18 Posted August 28, 2024 Posted August 28, 2024 Sedesma was a company in Germany that produced licenced low quality pins for Disney. If you are looking to sell them, unfortunately Sadesma pins usually only sell for about $5 each. Snow White and Grumpy usually go for $10-15 each. 1
BlueStreak Posted September 4, 2024 Posted September 4, 2024 Nice (complete?) set from early on. If you do not want them I am sure there are those who would be Happy to take them off your hands. There are several Moderators and others who are very good at finding the numbers for pins. Just give tham a chance. I am sure they will be around soon. 1

TheTwins Posted September 5, 2024 Posted September 5, 2024 Trying to find out something about these. So far haven't found them, but have sent the photos to someone who might know! 1
TheTwins Posted September 7, 2024 Posted September 7, 2024 Have shown these photos to @ScoopsPins, and his suggestion is that they may be made by ProPin. The reason for that is the way the back looks and that these have the shiny dome on top. Sedesma pins don't usually look like that, but ProPin was a German company creating pins at the same time -- and their pins look a lot like these. I've checked the database and nothing like these are listed. But that is not uncommon with this style of older pin. There were so many made and lots of them have not been added yet. Sorry I couldn't turn up anything more definite so far. ~ Sarah 1 1
bandmama Posted September 8, 2024 Author Posted September 8, 2024 I appreciate your efforts! These were in a special box of hers, so I know they brought her great joy. Is there any indication of when they were made, or how they were distributed? Is this something only available for purchase at Disney World or Disneyland?

What is your guess on when they were made? I did not start collecting until 1998 and did not start tracking what I have until 207 or 2008. I am still learning a lot of the finer points and currently am only tracking initial cost of those I have that show that information here. Not a seller so value to me is just what can i trade for . Hang around and keep asking questions and I am sure you will learn from those who have the knowledge and are willing to share. There are a lot of them here. 2
