TheTwins
It's pretty impossible to look through old pin-trading sites, and posts from the early days of trading, without running across Theodore P. Trader, the official Steiff pin-trading bear. To be totally honest, we'd never heard of him until this Summer, when we ran across an old DizPins page in the Wayback Machine. I still don't know very much about him, so please reply here if you have anything fun to add! Theodore P. Trader Theodore was released in October 2000, at WDW's 13th Annual Teddy Bear and Doll Convention, as a limited edition of 1,500 with a hefty $270.00 price tag. He's made of genuine mohair and came wearing a black sash that featured four different pins: PP3180, PP172, PP2878, and a red-and-gold Steiff pin. Just look at that irresistible face! We got extremely close to holding a Theodore P. Trader bear earlier this year. He was in a little bin, and we held the bin. But we didn't get a chance to open it! Can't believe it and hopefully will actually see (own?) one in real life one of these days. He's so cute! Seymore C. Trader Seymore was released in 2001 at WDW's 14th Annual Teddy Bear and Doll Convention as a limited edition of 1,500 (originally announced incorrectly as LE 1,000) with a price tag of $275.00. He's a cousin of Theodore and likes to trade trading cards, though he came with two different pins: PP8570 and PP8565 and a backpack with cards. His foot was signed by "Tweed Roosevelt". It's practically impossible to find much info about poor Seymore. If you have one and would like to share here, please do! Margarete Margarete was released in 2002 at WDW's 15th Annual Teddy Bear and Doll Convention, also a limited edition of 1,500, but with a price tag of $250.00. She was another cousin of Theodore (and Seymore), but I can't find that she had a storyline or character released at the time. She came with a little trading-card bag that featured a logo for 100 Years of Steiff Bears and had PP22818 attached to the front. Until today, I didn't know that Seymore and Margarete existed. Sis and I have been in love with Theodore for months now, and it's so cool to find out that he had cousins! (For those of you who don't know, the only thing we're potty about as much as pins is plush! They've been a huge part of our lives since we were born.) The Disney Teddy Bear and Doll Conventions are pretty neat and would probably make a good post of their own later on. (Have fun checking out the cool pins that were released for those over the years!) In the meantime, if you have any fun stories about Theodore and cousins (or pictures of your own), please share them here. ~ Sarah 1

The shop in the Germany Pavilion is actually back. We were there this year, and they had a lot of Steiff plush available. In fact, we even bought a pair of mini Steiff bears to use to make little Theodore bears for our American Girl dolls. They had other plush besides bears, and they even had Steiff versions of some classic Disney characters! 1
