Pain and panic

Yup that's what my wife called them. The one on Tuesday is Ramses.

When they are old enough we will sell or swap them for other rams to prevent inbreeding. It's an art checking blood lines before purchasing a new ram.

Some of our other animals on the ranch, a streak of blue (one eye is blue) Pixie Dust (donkey), and Breezy in the background.

Last fall after Halloween we fed leftover pumpkins to the sheep. We have a volunteer pumpkin plant in the field.

Unfortunately ranchlife is not all sunshine and roses. Never boring. Yesterday Breezy, one of the rescue horses was bitten by a poisonous snake on the lower lip. Even with aggressive vet care and an emergency field tracheostomy she succumbed to the injury.

Oh, no! That's so sad. We're so sorry to hear that. Sending hugs!
